About Locum Otolaryngology (ENT) Jobs

Job Responsibilities
- Conduct examinations and diagnose conditions for patients with conditions related to the ear, nose, throat, head and neck.
- Perform a range of ENT surgical procedures, such as tonsillectomies, sinus surgeries, and head and neck cancer surgeries, among others.
- Respond promptly to ENT-related emergencies, such as airway obstructions, nosebleeds and traumatic injuries.
- Provide patient education about conditions, treatment options and post-care management strategies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of otolaryngology principles, including both medical and surgical treatments for ENT disorders.
- Capability to make quick, informed decisions during surgery and in emergency situations.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex medical information to patients.
- Excellent manual dexterity and precision.
- Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams.
Minimum Education Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Residency training program in otolaryngology by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
License & Certifications
- Board certification in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (ABO-HNS) or the American Osteopathic Boards of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AOBOO-HNS).
- Active and unrestricted medical license in North Dakota.
Experience
- While specific requirements may vary, most locum ENT positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting.
